VOXARA: Together in Tune

Volunteers bring live music and companionship to senior living, medical and rehab, and daycare communities. Find a facility and play.

Two Ways to Help

Choose your role

Every program has two kinds of roles. You can choose either or both when you apply.

Skilled

Bring a skill

  • Perform music (solo, duo, group, or choir)
  • Lead a sing-along or music activity
  • Teach a short music class
General

Lend a hand

  • Help residents to and from the performance room
  • Set up chairs and sound equipment
  • Greet guests and hand out programs
  • Help people get comfortable in their seats

You can choose either or both when you apply.

How It Works

Three Simple Steps

1

Create your free account

Sign up as a volunteer. It is free and takes about two minutes.

2

Pick an opportunity near you

Browse open opportunities and choose a role that fits you.

3

Show up, help out, and get your hours confirmed

Arrive, take part, and the host confirms your visit. Your volunteer hours are logged once the host confirms.

Our Mission

Why we show up

Together in Tune connects student and community musicians with care communities so that live music, companionship, and consistent visits reach the people who would enjoy them most.

Show up consistently

Regular visits build trust and real relationships with the people we serve.

Respect the people we serve

We listen, follow each site's guidance, and meet people where they are.

Keep volunteers and residents safe

Clear requirements, respectful communication, and careful planning come first.

Staying safe

Before your first Together in Tune visit, you'll agree to these rules.

a)

Stay in the common areas the facility approves.

b)

Follow staff instructions about each resident's needs.

c)

Never be alone in a private room with a resident.

d)

Never give food or drink to a resident without staff approval.

e)

Never share personal contact details with residents.

f)

Never take or share photos without permission.

Voxara volunteers are not professionals. They help at the participant's pace and do not provide medical, therapy, health, legal, or professional advice, and do not guarantee any particular result.
